Sacramento Autorama 2025 Celebrates Custom Cars With Prestigious Awards And Recognition

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Sacramento Autorama concluded its 74th annual event on May 4, 2025, at Cal Expo. This renowned indoor car show celebrated some of the finest custom vehicles in the country. Over 500 custom cars were showcased, and more than 400 awards were distributed during the closing ceremony.

Among the highlights was the Custom d’Elegance award, which went to Jimmy Hervatin's 1952 Ford F1 pickup named "Lit Up." This vehicle is inspired by a painting by Keith Weesner. Hervatin personally crafted this masterpiece, modifying it with a six-inch chop and a new frame. The truck features custom running boards and a unique paint job with gold-flaked flames.

The West Coast Challenge Car Show Series also crowned its Grand Champion at the event. David Maxwell's futuristic 1953 Corvette "TwelveAir" Concept, built by Kindig-It Design, won the Best of the West award. Maxwell's car outperformed ten other competitors who participated in multiple shows across California, Oregon, and Washington.

Eric Wisterman's "Breaking Bad"-themed 1962 Chevrolet Impala was named the World’s Most Beautiful Lowrider for the second year in a row. The light-yellow lowrider features murals from the popular TV show and intricate pinstriping. Wisterman collaborated with Jim Basgall on this project.

Jerry Logan received the H.A. Bagdasarian World’s Most Beautiful Custom Award for his pristine 1952 Chevrolet Fleetline hardtop. The Sam Barris Memorial Award was given to Maxwell’s "TwelveAir" Corvette for its exceptional metalwork and paint quality.

The Joe "Candy Apple Red" Bailon Memorial Award went to Nick Dias' stunning blue 1947 Cadillac. Meanwhile, Cliff Mattis' "Inspire 57" Chevrolet Convertible earned the Dick Bertolucci Automotive Excellence Award for its craftsmanship.

Community Support and Future Events

A charity auction held during Sunday’s event raised nearly $10,000 for UC Davis Children's Hospital. This institution is committed to enhancing lives through healthcare innovations.
