Rolls-Royce Contributes Over £23,000 To Aldingbourne Trust As Part Of 2024 Charity Initiative

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has donated over £23,000 to the Aldingbourne Trust, its chosen charity for 2024. The funds were raised by employees at the Goodwood headquarters through various individual and team efforts. This initiative is part of a long-standing tradition that began in 2003, where staff select a House Charity to support each year.

During a visit from Rolls-Royce, clients of the Aldingbourne Trust enjoyed rides in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The Trust supports around 1,500 individuals with learning disabilities and autism. As a token of appreciation, clients crafted a model Rolls-Royce car from reclaimed wood, which will be displayed at the company's Global Headquarters.

The funds raised will aid the Aldingbourne Trust in its mission to provide education, training, and care for adults with autism and other learning disabilities. The charity works closely with local businesses to offer real opportunities for its clients to engage with their communities meaningfully.

Abigail Rowe, Head of Fundraising at Aldingbourne Trust, expressed gratitude towards Rolls-Royce: "We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the Rolls-Royce team, and we’re incredibly grateful for all their hard work and enthusiasm. This wonderful donation will make a real difference to so many lives."

Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations and Heritage at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, highlighted the significance of this initiative: "We were delighted to present a cheque for the funds raised in 2024 on behalf of Aldingbourne Trust... We’re already hard at work raising money for this year’s House Charity, Dementia Support at Sage House."

The upcoming House Charity for 2025 is Dementia Support at Sage House. Located near Goodwood in Tangmere, West Sussex, it offers comprehensive services for those living with dementia under one roof.

The Aldingbourne Trust's projects include social enterprises where clients learn skills like woodworking using materials donated by Rolls-Royce. These activities not only enhance skills but also foster community integration.

Impact on Economy

An independent study by the London School of Economics & Political Science found that since its inception at Goodwood in 2003, Rolls-Royce has contributed over £4 billion to the UK economy. Annually, it adds more than £500 million in economic value.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW Group. It is distinct from Rolls-Royce plc., which manufactures aircraft engines and propulsion systems.

This ongoing commitment by Rolls-Royce demonstrates how corporate responsibility can lead to positive changes within local communities while supporting essential causes like those championed by the Aldingbourne Trust.
