Renault Duster For India Teased - Debut Date Revealed

Renault has confirmed that the next-generation Duster will make its India debut on January 26, 2026. Renault released a short teaser highlighting the SUV's upright stance and muscular proportions, previewing a design that mirrors Renault's latest global styling language.

The new-generation Renault Duster will use the CMF-B modular platform, which underpins models like the Dacia Duster and Bigster overseas. The architecture supports multiple powertrains and enhanced crash protection while allowing Renault to engineer India-specific components for local manufacturing.

The teaser for the new Renault Duster shows the silhouette of the SUV along with the nameplate and the words "The Icon is Back | 26.01.26". The new Duster will feature a higher ground clearance than before, with functional roof rails and wide body cladding hinting at its off-road capabilities.

Inside, Renault is expected to offer a new triple-screen layout that combines a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment display, and a passenger-side touchscreen. Materials, switchgear, and overall build quality are expected to see significant improvements over the previous Duster sold in India.

Internationally, the Duster comes with a 1.2-litre petrol-hybrid engine, a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid option, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. For India, Renault is likely to introduce the smaller turbo-petrol and hybrid variants, with a CNG derivative under consideration for fleet and private buyers.

Spy images indicate that both five- and seven-seat configurations will be offered. The larger version will compete with the Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens, and Tata Safari, while the standard variant will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.

Renault has confirmed that the new-gen Duster will be produced at its Tamil Nadu plant with a high level of localisation. Pricing for the new-gen Renault Duster is expected to start at around ₹10 lakh ex-showroom.

Renault's updated product strategy in India includes new SUVs and electrified powertrains, positioning the brand for a stronger comeback in the midsize utility space. The Duster's unveiling on Republic Day 2026 will mark the start of this next product cycle for the company.

Full specifications and feature details of the new-gen Renault Duster will be announced closer to launch, with bookings likely to begin early next year through Renault dealerships and the brand's online platform.
