Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept Showcases All-Terrain Capabilities At Roland-Garros 2025
Renault is once again a premium partner of the Roland-Garros French Open tennis tournament, which runs from 19 May to 8 June 2025. The Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept will be showcased alongside the Renault 5 Turbo 3E and the Renault 5 E-Tech electric Roland-Garros special series. These models highlight Renault's commitment to innovation and style in the automotive industry.
Renault's role as the official transport provider for the French Open includes a fleet of 187 vehicles, mainly consisting of Scenic E-Tech electric and Rafale full hybrid E-Tech models. This year, two autonomous electric shuttles will also operate between Porte d'Auteuil and the village, offering convenient transport for spectators. This initiative reflects Renault's dedication to sustainable mobility solutions.
The Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept is designed for adventurous drivers, featuring a second electric motor on the rear axle for all-wheel drive capabilities. Its ground clearance is increased by 15 mm compared to the standard Renault 4 E-Tech electric model. Special Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ tyres enhance its off-road performance, making it suitable for various terrains.
The vehicle's exterior boasts Jade Green bodywork with gloss black bumpers and wheel arches. The roof features a printed fabric design for added style. Inside, Deep Brown refined textile fabric covers the seats and dashboard, with unique design elements like a quilted pattern of number fours on the backrests.
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E makes its public debut at Roland-Garros, showcasing its striking black, yellow, and white livery reminiscent of the iconic Renault 5 Turbo from the Tour of Corsica in 1982. With an impressive 800V architecture and in-wheel motors delivering 555 hp, this 'mini-supercar' embodies Renault's innovative spirit and sporting heritage.
Meanwhile, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric Roland-Garros special series takes centre stage with its elegant design inspired by tennis and the tournament itself. Available in four shades, it features unique interior details like light grey recycled textile upholstery and a heat-embossed Roland-Garros logo on the front seatbacks.
Commitment to Sustainability
Renault continues to support ecological initiatives at Roland-Garros by reducing its carbon footprint each year. The fleet used during the tournament is predominantly electrified, with models like Scenic E-Tech electric and Rafale full hybrid E-Tech leading the way. Additionally, new autonomous shuttles are being trialled in partnership with WeRide.
The "La Lignée" programme highlights five ambassadors: Ugo Humbert, Casper Ruud, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Diede de Groot, and Luca Van Assche. These athletes promote social initiatives like "Give Me 5," which aims to provide access to sports for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through renovated tennis courts managed by local associations.
Ugo Humbert joins this initiative as a new ambassador alongside other notable tennis players. The programme combines sustainable mobility with social impact projects to foster inclusion and accessibility in sports.
Renault's involvement in Roland-Garros underscores its commitment to innovation in mobility while supporting community-focused initiatives that promote sustainability and inclusivity in sports.
