Regulator Racing's Jeff Burton And Philip Ellis Achieve Strong Results In GT World Challenge At Sebring

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing teams, Regulator Racing and JMF Motorsports, achieved three podium finishes during the SRO GT World Challenge America at Sebring International Raceway. Jeff Burton and Philip Ellis drove the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 to second place in the Pro-Am class on both days. Meanwhile, Mikael Grenier and Michai Stephens secured third place in the Pro division on Sunday with the No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The results from Regulator Racing keep them in close contention for the Pro-Am season championship, trailing by just 10 points after Sebring. On Saturday, Burton took over from Ellis and maintained a strong position against professional drivers, finishing second. Sunday's race saw Burton start and recover from an early spin before handing over to Ellis, who pushed hard but finished just 0.417 seconds behind the leader.

Pirelli GT4 America Highlights

Dome Motorsport had its best finish yet in Saturday's Pirelli GT4 America race, with Eddie Killeen and Marc Miller driving to seventh place in their fourth race together. Sunday's race looked promising until a full-course caution disrupted their strategy, resulting in a ninth-place finish.

Jeff Burton expressed satisfaction with his performance at Sebring: "Saturday was probably my best drive, not the fastest I've driven, but it was the best drive for me here at Sebring." He acknowledged the challenges posed by track conditions but praised Ellis's efforts: "Watching Philip do what he does is really enjoyable."

Philip Ellis reflected on their weekend performance: "I think we had a good race both days and a good weekend." He noted that while they were fortunate with a safety car on Sunday, it came too late for a final push to first place.

Michai Stephens shared insights into managing car balance amid challenging conditions: "We were just managing the evolving balance of the car for the heat and the rubber buildup." He emphasized learning from experiences like these to improve future performances.

Marc Miller highlighted Dome Motorsport's progress: "Saturday really showed how good the car was at the end of the race." Despite setbacks on Sunday due to yellow flag timing, he remained positive about team development and collaboration with co-driver Eddie Killeen.

The SRO America racing season now pauses for summer break before resuming at VIRginia International Raceway from July 18-20. Teams will use this time to reflect on lessons learned and prepare for upcoming challenges as they continue their pursuit of championship success.
