Range Rover Velar Autobiography Launched At Rs 89.90 Lakh - Bollywood's New Favourite?
British SUV specialist Land Rover has expanded its Velar SUV lineup in India by launching the top-spec Autobiography variant. The Range Rover Velar Autobiography is priced at Rs 89.90 lakh, ex-showroom.
The new Velar Autobiography is available with both petrol and diesel engines, setting it apart from the base Dynamic SE variant, which is limited to a petrol option only. The Autobiography version commands a premium of Rs 5 lakh over the Dynamic SE, and it justifies this with an array of upgrades.
The Velar Autobiography sports quite a few unique design elements like Burnished Copper detailing on the bumpers and front fenders, complemented by 'Range Rover' lettering adorning the bonnet and tailgate.
The Velar Autobiography variant also introduces a slight refresh to the LED headlights and rolls on newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels painted in Satin Dark Grey. The Range Rover Velar Autobiography is available in four exclusive exterior colors: Ostuni Pearl White, Varesine Blue, Arroios Grey, and Batumi Gold, adding to its exclusivity.
On the inside, the Range Rover Velar Autobiography ups the luxury quotient with exclusive leather upholstery options such as Cloud/Ebony, Deep Garnet/Ebony, and Caraway/Ebony. It retains advanced features from the Velar lineup, including an 11.4-inch touchscreen compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, and 4-zone climate control.
The Velar's Meridian audio system has been also been upgraded to include 3D surround sound technology. Additionally, buyers can opt for a panoramic sunroof and 20-way massaging front seats with powered recline, further setting the Autobiography apart from the Dynamic SE trim.
The Autobiography variant of the Range Rover Velar sports a host of enhanced safety and driving features including a 360-degree camera, ABS, EBD, hill-descent control, a wade-sensing system, and front and rear parking sensors among others.
In terms of performance, the Velar Autobiography doesn’t disappoint. The petrol variant (P250) features a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 250hp and 365Nm of torque, identical to the Dynamic SE’s powertrain.
The diesel variant (D200) is equipped with a 2-litre engine complemented by a mild hybrid system, producing 204hp and 430Nm. Acceleration from 0-100kph takes 7.5 seconds in the petrol model and 8.3 seconds in the diesel variant, with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard across the board. The Velar Autobiography also features Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 with Dynamic Program, offering superior off-road capabilities, accessible via the touchscreen interface.
