Porsche Taycan Achieves Car And Driver EV Of The Year Award For 2025

The Porsche Taycan has been named the 2025 EV of the Year by Car and Driver magazine. This accolade was awarded after evaluating 24 electric vehicles from 15 manufacturers. The cars were tested on handling, braking, acceleration, charging, and range. They were also rated in categories such as Fun to Drive, Mission Fulfillment, Value, and Technology Application.

Car and Driver's editorial team drove various Taycan models, including the rear-wheel drive sedan and Cross Turismo variants. The Taycan Turbo GT set a record, further showcasing its capabilities. The Taycan excelled in the Technology category with its optional Active Ride Suspension. It also stood out in Mission Fulfillment as a top EV sports sedan and was praised for being Fun to Drive.

Timo Resch, CEO of Porsche Cars North America, expressed pride in the recognition. "We’re proud that the Taycan has been recognized for an Award that takes in so many different aspects of the character of the car – it truly is an awesome all-rounder," he stated. He added that Porsche aims to deliver sports cars in every segment, and the Taycan achieves this goal.

Car and Driver Editor-in-Chief Tony Quiroga highlighted the joy and excellence found across all Taycan models. "From the entry-level Taycan to the 1019-hp Taycan Turbo GT, Porsche’s electric sedan is filled with the same joy and excellence as the brand’s sports cars," he said.

The EV of the Year award adds to Taycan's accolades. It previously won Road & Track’s Performance EV of the Year twice consecutively. Recently, it set a new lap record for production EVs at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta with its Turbo GT model.

Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), established in 1984, is based in Atlanta since 1998. PCNA imports models like Porsche 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan exclusively for the U.S. market. The company offers a Porsche Car Configurator for customising vehicles before purchase.

Porsche Experience Centers

The first Porsche Experience Center in North America is located at PCNA's Atlanta headquarters. It features two driver development tracks spanning 1.6 miles each, along with a business center and Restaurant 356. A second center near Los Angeles includes a track with eight modules totaling 4.1 miles.

PCNA supports over 200 independently owned dealerships across the U.S., along with five studios and six satellite stores. These dealerships provide parts, service, marketing support, and training to ensure customers receive an experience aligned with Porsche's legacy of performance and safety.

Porsche AG owns PCNA indirectly; it is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. The brand's success is rooted in its racing heritage with over 30,000 motorsport victories to date.
