Porsche Selected Drivers Loek Hartog And Tom Sargent Compete In Spa 24-Hour Race
Loek Hartog and Tom Sargent are gearing up for the 24 Hours of Spa, marking another milestone in their racing careers. Both drivers, named Porsche Selected Drivers by Porsche Motorsport North America for 2025, will compete in this prestigious event. They will drive a Porsche 911 GT3 R, with the race starting at 12:30 EDT on Saturday, June 28.
Hartog is no stranger to endurance racing, having recently secured a podium finish at the Nürburgring 24 hours. Meanwhile, Sargent participated in the Six Hours of Watkins Glen with Wright Motorsports. This weekend's race in Belgium is Sargent's first appearance at the Spa event. Last year, Hartog was entered but did not compete due to an early incident involving his team.
The Porsche Selected Driver program plays a crucial role in nurturing emerging talent within the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid North America. It offers young professionals direct manufacturer support and expanded racing opportunities across GT and endurance platforms. Hartog and Sargent were chosen alongside Riley Dickinson for their impressive performances on the track.
Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, expressed pride in their achievements: "Loek and Tom, like Riley, are showing their tremendous talents not just here in America but around the world." He wished them success as they represent Porsche at this significant GT3-only race.
Hartog has been active in both North America and Europe. He won the Porsche Carrera Cup North America for Kellymoss while also competing in European GT3 events. This year, he expanded his activities to include Pirelli GT4 America races with a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
Sargent made his mark in North America during the 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup season. In 2024, he became a race winner with GMG Racing in GT World Challenge driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R. For 2025, he joined Wright Motorsports as a third driver for the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.
Upcoming Challenges
This week’s race marks Hartog’s third consecutive endurance event following Le Mans and Nürburgring races. He achieved sixth place at Le Mans and third at Nürburgring before heading to Spa. Sargent will join American co-drivers Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer at Spa after finishing second in the GTD class at Daytona earlier this season.
Sargent shared his excitement about participating: "To be able to say it’s Spa 24 hour week is so crazy," he said. Competing with Wright Motorsports is ideal for him as they have brought their entire IMSA team from America for consistency.
Race Details
The twice-around-the-clock race features 75 GT3 cars from ten manufacturers on a 4.352-mile circuit divided into five classes by driver ranking. Wright Motorsports and Dinamic GT are among eleven teams fielding Porsche 911 GT3 Rs. Sargent competes in the Gold category while Hartog races in Bronze class.
