Porsche Named Official Car Of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca To Enhance Motorsport Experience
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) has announced its new role as the Official Car of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. This partnership will see Porsche supporting Friends of Laguna Seca in revitalising the Raceway and Recreation Area. Additionally, a Porsche Driving Center is set to open at this iconic track in 2026, offering various driving courses.
Laguna Seca has been a significant venue for Porsche, hosting four Rennsport Reunions over the past 15 years. The most recent event in 2023 attracted over 91,000 attendees, marking it as the largest gathering yet. This highlights the enduring enthusiasm of Porsche fans across the United States.
In February 2024, the Taycan Turbo GT achieved a remarkable feat at Laguna Seca by becoming the fastest electric series-production car on the track with a time of 1:27.87 minutes. This achievement underscores Porsche's ongoing commitment to innovation and performance.
The sponsorship kicks off with Porsche serving as the official safety car for the TireRack.com Monterey Sportscar Championship IMSA race weekend from May 9-11. The race will be broadcast live on NBC on May 11 at noon PDT/3 p.m. EDT.
