Porsche Macan Electric Wins Best EV Award From MotorWeek For Performance And Design
The Porsche Macan Electric has been recognised for its exceptional performance and design. It was named the Best EV in MotorWeek’s annual Drivers’ Choice Awards. To qualify, vehicles must excel in various subjective and objective criteria during MotorWeek's testing process. The Macan Electric impressed with its electrified version of the already acclaimed Macan model.
Equipped with a 100kWh battery, the Macan Electric supports up to 270kW of DC fast charging. It features powerful permanent magnet motors and an engaging chassis, combining practicality with Porsche's signature dynamic performance in a crossover SUV body. This blend of features makes it stand out in its segment.
John Davis, creator and host of MotorWeek, stated, "The Porsche Macan Electric is an important attempt by Porsche to get fans of its most popular nameplate familiar with an all-electric automotive destiny. After driving the Macan Electric, we think they have hit the nail on the head." He highlighted the commendable driving range across four trim levels, from 315 miles for the standard model to 288 miles for the Macan Turbo.
The Macan Turbo boasts a peak output of 630 horsepower. All variants come with air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard. A 52/48 weight distribution and low centre of gravity ensure performance is prioritised at every level, reinforcing its engineering as a true Porsche vehicle.
Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, expressed gratitude for the recognition from MotorWeek. "Every Porsche must be more than just transportation; they must also provide truly exhilarating connections," he said. The Macan Electric offers four variants: rear-drive Macan Electric, all-wheel-drive Macan 4, performance-focused Macan 4S, and powerful top model Macan Turbo.
This range allows for customisation while maintaining dynamic performance expected by drivers. The electrified Macan combines practicality with versatility, appealing to a wide audience seeking both functionality and excitement in their driving experience.
