Porsche Carrera Cup North America To Race At Formula 1 Events In Miami, Montreal, And Austin In 2025

The Porsche Carrera Cup North America will feature doubleheader races in Miami, Montreal, and Austin in 2025. These events coincide with Formula 1 races, forming a key part of the championship's schedule. Returning drivers like Dickinson, Yardley, Vanier, and Baltas have previously won on Grand Prix weekends. The series continues its tradition of supporting Formula 1 events across North America.

In its fifth season, the Porsche Carrera Cup North America remains a premier single-make championship. It made significant strides in May 2023 by hosting a doubleheader at the Miami International Autodrome. This marked the first time the series competed alongside the Formula 1 World Championship using the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup platform, which also supports the European Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

The 2025 season includes three major events: the Miami Grand Prix from May 2-4, the Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve from June 13-15, and the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas from October 17-19. These races are part of an eight-round, 16-race schedule that offers unique opportunities for competitors.

"Our goal has always been to put together the best possible schedule that brings the most interest to our championship," said Volker Holzmeyer, president and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America. "These races bring an additional element of competition on the track and provide a special opportunity off the track."

Riley Dickinson dominated both Miami and Circuit of the Americas rounds in his 2023 campaign with Kellymoss. He currently leads the title race for 2025. Yves Baltas secured a victory in wet conditions at Montreal last year. Zachary Vanier and JDX Racing celebrated wins at Miami and Circuit of the Americas as well.

The Pro-Am and Masters class drivers find these weekends particularly significant. Scott Blind achieved a Masters class win at Circuit of the Americas finale in 2024 with Ruckus Racing. "I’ve always loved my time racing Porsche single-make Championships," Blind stated about his focus on Carrera Cup North America this season.

Unique Opportunities

The series offers drivers a chance to race during Formula One weekends, enhancing their experience. "We get three opportunities to step into the Formula One paddock," Blind added. "Running on those weekends in front of those crowds in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is special."

The next appearance for Porsche Carrera Cup North America is set for May 2-4 at Miami Grand Prix for races three and four. Following that are races five and six at Canadian Grand Prix from June 13-15 before concluding with United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas.
