Singer, a California-based luxury specialist, has introduced its latest service: the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer. This service involves restoring and reimagining classic Porsche 911s in collaboration with their owners. The process begins when an owner sends their Type 964 Porsche 911 to Singer for a personalized restoration, which includes disassembling the car and assessing the chassis.
The heart of this reimagined vehicle is a naturally aspirated flat-six engine, developed with Cosworth's expertise. This engine features variable valve timing for the first time in a Singer restoration, enhancing drivability at low speeds and power at high revs. It combines water-cooled cylinder heads with air-cooled cylinders, producing 420HP and allowing the engine to rev beyond 8000 rpm.
Singer collaborates with Red Bull Advanced Technologies to strengthen the original Type 964 monocoque chassis. This partnership enhances rigidity using composite and steel reinforcement, improving handling and braking. The suspension system, developed from Singer's turbocharged services, includes four-way adjustable dampers for precise sports handling.
Design and Customisation
Inspired by the G model cars of the 1980s, the bodywork is crafted from carbon fibre for reduced weight and increased stiffness. Owners can choose between fixed or speed-activated rear wings to manage airflow. The interior offers bespoke options like lightweight sports seats, hand-built gauges, and stitched leather seams.
