Polestar 3 Launches Abbey Road Studios Mode For Enhanced Bowers & Wilkins Audio Experience
Polestar has introduced a new audio feature for its Polestar 3 vehicles through an over-the-air update. This feature, called Abbey Road Studios Mode, is exclusively available for the Bowers & Wilkins audio system. It offers a unique listening experience inspired by the iconic London recording studio. The mode includes four sound presets: Intimate, Open, Energised, and Expansive, along with a Producer mode for customisation.
The Intimate preset provides a close-up listening experience reminiscent of sitting in a producer's chair in the control room. It delivers a warm and detailed sound that brings listeners closer to the music. Meanwhile, the Open preset creates an immersive environment, allowing listeners to feel as if they are alongside artists in the studio.
The Energised preset combines vivid detail with vintage warmth, capturing the energy of live performances. It offers a lively and engaging acoustic experience. On the other hand, the Expansive preset immerses listeners in the ambience of a live room, enhancing depth and dimension while delivering powerful sound.
Producer mode allows users to personalise their listening experience further by adjusting tonality and ambience in real-time. Inspired by Abbey Road’s sonic DNA, this mode lets drivers tailor sound according to their preferences regardless of genre or track.
Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, expressed excitement about this development: "The Bowers & Wilkins sound system in Polestar 3 is already world class, but this new Abbey Road Studios Mode takes it to another level." He emphasised how closely it replicates Abbey Road Studios’ sonic signature.
Sally Davies from Abbey Road highlighted their pride in bringing this mode to Polestar 3’s Bowers & Wilkins system. She noted that it continues their collaboration with Bowers & Wilkins in consumer audio products while expanding into automotive audio.
The optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system features 25 strategically placed speakers within Polestar 3’s luxurious interior. It boasts a power output of 1,610 watts along with 3D surround sound capabilities like Dolby Atmos and active road noise cancellation.
Dan Shepherd from Bowers & Wilkins expressed delight at introducing Abbey Road Studios Mode exclusively for their audio system in collaboration with Polestar and Abbey Road. He mentioned achieving their goal of bringing studio characteristics into vehicles while allowing personalisation options for users.
Broader Software Update
This exclusive feature is part of a broader software update that includes Stolen Vehicle Tracking and Smart Schedule for charging among other enhancements available only on Polestar 3 models equipped with Bowers & Wilkins systems.
