Car Soo Good Even The Ex-CEO Bought One: All Details Here
Pawan Kumar Goenka, who chairs INSPACE and the Board of Governors at IIT Madras, has recently acquired a Mahindra XEV 9e. He shared images of this new purchase on X (formerly Twitter). Goenka, known for his previous role as Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra, expressed his satisfaction with the vehicle.
Goenka's choice of colour for the SUV is 'Desert Myst'. The XEV 9e offers a palette of eight shades, including Desert Myst, Everest White, Nebula Blue, Tango Red, Gold Dawn, Deep Forest, Ruby Velvet, and Stealth Black. His post on Twitter praised the SUV's capabilities: "We are now proud owners of the XEV 9e. The car delivers everything it promised and more. Thank you Mahindra for creating this feature-rich, tech-laden masterpiece."

Mahindra XEV 9e: Design & Features
The XEV 9e resembles an electric coupe version of the XUV700. Its design borrows elements from its Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart. Notable features include a coupe-like roofline and a closed-off grille section typical of EVs. The vehicle also boasts aerodynamic wheels with low-resistance tyres and full-width light bars at both ends.
Inside the cabin, Mahindra has equipped the XEV 9e with advanced technology. It features three large 12.3-inch screens known as the "Cinemascope Cockpit." Rear passengers enjoy two individual screens for entertainment. Other amenities include VisionX Augmented Reality HUD, MAIA (Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture), ventilated seats, an infinity glass roof with integrated lights, electrically adjustable front seats, and multi-zone climate control.

Safety & Performance
The safety suite in the XEV 9e includes seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, Level 2+ ADAS, and more. It prioritises battery safety during crashes and has achieved a full 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash tests. This focus on safety complements its impressive performance credentials.
Mahindra launched its Electric Origin SUVs—the BE 6 and XEV 9e—towards the end of 2024. These models were showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025. Deliveries began in March 2025 with Goenka among the first recipients. Public figures have been impressed by these vehicles' technology and performance.
Advanced Powertrain Options
The XEV 9e offers two battery options: a 59kWh pack producing 228bhp and a larger 79kWh pack delivering 282bhp. Both versions generate torque of 380Nm. The larger battery claims a range of up to 656km per charge.
This vehicle is built on Mahindra's INGLO platform developed in India to global standards. The electric motor is positioned at the rear in both BE6 and XEV 9e models and sourced from Valeo.
Considering Goenka's extensive experience in automotive R&D at Mahindra and General Motors (GM), his endorsement carries significant weight. His deep understanding of India's automotive landscape makes his approval noteworthy.
