Hyundai Achieves Over 50% Completion In U.S. Dealership Facility Upgrades For Enhanced Customer Experience
Hyundai Motor America has announced a significant achievement in its Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) initiative, with over half of its dealership renovations completed. This effort, which began in 2015 and was updated in 2019, aims to enhance customer experiences and support the dealer network. The initiative reflects Hyundai's "Modern Premium" values by creating a unified architectural standard across all retail locations.
More than 457 Hyundai dealerships have finished their renovations, and the company anticipates that over 60% of its U.S. dealers will complete upgrades by the end of 2025. These improvements are crucial as Hyundai expands its product range and electric vehicle offerings, ensuring that retail spaces align with the brand's innovative identity and customer-focused approach.
Despite some automakers moving towards direct-to-consumer models, Hyundai remains dedicated to its dealer network. Modernised facilities enable dealers to lead in customer relationships and service, especially as new technologies and powertrain options emerge. These upgraded spaces facilitate education, service, and long-term engagement with customers.
Rob Grafton, senior vice president at Hyundai Motor Company, stated, "Dealerships that have adopted this voluntary initiative perform better, with higher profit, return on sales and service retention." This reflects the transformation seen in Hyundai's vehicles' design and quality.
Hyundai dealerships also play a vital role in community engagement through philanthropic programs like Hyundai Hope on Wheels and Hyundai Hope. These initiatives include a nationwide car seat safety program among other activities. Such efforts highlight Hyundai's commitment to human connection and thoughtful service within its dealer network.
Hyundai Motor America offers a diverse lineup of technology-rich cars, SUVs, and electrified vehicles to U.S. consumers while supporting the company's Progress for Humanity vision. The company's operations in the U.S., including its headquarters in California and manufacturing plants in Alabama, contribute significantly to the economy.
Economic Impact
The combined operations of Hyundai Motor America and its 850 independent dealers contribute $20.1 billion annually to the U.S. economy and provide 190,000 jobs. This economic impact underscores the importance of Hyundai's presence in the United States.
The ongoing renovations not only enhance customer experience but also reinforce Hyundai's long-term commitment to supporting its dealer network. By maintaining modern facilities that reflect their brand values, Hyundai ensures that both customers and dealers benefit from an elevated sales and service environment.
