Nissan Sold '0' Units Of This Model In The Last 2 Months! Here's Why
Nissan's sales report for February 2025 highlights a stark difference in the performance of its models. The Magnite achieved notable success with 2,328 units sold. In contrast, the premium SUV X-Trail recorded no sales for the second month in a row. This poses a significant challenge for Nissan in India's competitive market, as the X-Trail struggles to attract buyers.
The X-Trail's sales figures over the past six months reveal a worrying trend. It managed to sell only 16 units during this period, with September 2024 being its best month at 13 units sold. The lack of sales in January and February 2025 indicates dwindling interest from potential customers.

Despite its lacklustre sales, the Nissan X-Trail is equipped with several advanced safety features. These include seven airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. However, these features have not translated into sales success.
The X-Trail faces tough competition from established rivals like the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster. These competitors have a strong foothold in the Indian market, making it difficult for the X-Trail to gain traction among consumers.

Imported to India, the Nissan X-Trail is priced at ₹49.92 lakh (Delhi, ex-showroom). Its premium price compared to locally available rivals with more options might be a factor contributing to its poor performance. This pricing strategy could be deterring potential buyers.
The table below summarises the Nissan X-Trail's sales figures over the past six months:
| Month | Sales Count |
|---|---|
| September 2024 | 13 |
| October 2024 | 2 |
| November 2024 | 0 |
| December 2024 | 1 |
| January 2025 | 0 |
| February 2025 | 0 |

The data clearly shows that despite its advanced safety features and premium build, the Nissan X-Trail is struggling to find customers in India. The competitive environment and high price could be contributing factors to its poor sales performance.
Nissan's overall sales in February were driven solely by the Magnite model. This indicates that while some models are performing well, others, like the X-Trail, are facing significant challenges in capturing market share.
