Forget Fortuner, Innova Hycross; This Rs 50 Lakh SUV Is Now Available With Rs 20+ Lakh Discount!

Nissan launched the X-Trail SUV in India with hopes of the model gaining decent traction in the country. However, the high tax for CBU-route vehicles pushed the prices by a significant margin, leading to poor sales.

Now, it is widely reported that Big Boy Toyz has acquired approximately 80 of the 150 Nissan X Trail units imported into India. These vehicles are now available at a significantly reduced price of Rs 29.50 lakh, which is Rs 20.42 lakh less than the original launch price of Rs 49.92 lakh in August 2024.

Nissan X-Trail: Powertrain

The X-Trail's powertrain includes a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 163hp and 300Nm of torque. It features a 12V mild-hybrid system and is coupled with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic transmission.

This setup minimises the rubberband effect often associated with CVTs. Nissan's unique variable compression technology allows the engine to adjust its compression ratio for optimal performance or fuel efficiency as needed.

Nissan X-Trail: Features

The X-Trail boasts several features such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also includes a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, wireless smartphone charging, keyless entry and start, drive modes, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and cruise control. The SUV comes standard with a seven-seater configuration.

The second row of seats in the X-Trail offers flexibility with its 40/20/40 split-folding capability along with sliding and reclining functions. Meanwhile, the third row provides 50/50 split-folding and reclining options to accommodate varying passenger needs or cargo space requirements.

Nissan X-Trail: Safety Tech

In terms of safety, the Nissan X Trail is equipped with seven airbags, automatic wipers, ABS with EBD, traction control, limited-slip differential, hill-start assist, and front parking sensors. These features ensure enhanced safety for both the driver and passengers during travel.

Nissan X-Trail: Market Competition

The Nissan X Trail competes against other premium seven-seater SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster in India. However, with the price cut of more than Rs 20.42 lakh, the Nissan X-Trail offers unmatched value-for-money. In fact, we suggest that even Innova Hycross buyers take a look at the Nissan X-Trail before making their purchase decision.
