Nissan To Hike Magnite Prices From January By 3 Per Cent Ahead Of Lineup Expansion

Nissan has announced a price increase across its vehicle range, confirming that revised prices will come into effect from January 1, 2026. The Japanese carmaker stated that the hike will be up to three per cent and will apply across its portfolio (currently just the Magnite) sold in India.

The Japanese carmaker said the decision to revise prices was driven by rising input costs and operational expenses, which have continued to put pressure on manufacturing and business operations over the course of the year, prompting a reassessment of current pricing structures.

Nissan confirmed that the revised prices will be applicable from January 1, with customers booking vehicles before the revision expected to be billed at prevailing prices, subject to dealer terms and delivery timelines at the time of invoicing.

Nissan is following a trend seen across the automotive industry, where manufacturers periodically revise prices at the start of a calendar year to offset increases in raw material costs, logistics expenses, and other operational inputs.

Nissan's Indian lineup currently includes a single mass-market offering, the Magnite compact SUV, which has been positioned as a value-focused product in its segment since launch, playing a key role in the brand's sales performance in the country. The Magnite lineup currently ranges between Rs 5.62 lakh to Rs 10.76 lakh (ex-showroom), and the January price hike is set to raise prices by a maximum of Rs 17,000-32,000.

Nissan has previously adjusted pricing in response to regulatory and cost changes, including the changes in GST levels in late September that led to a steep drop in prices, and the latest revision reflects the brand's effort to maintain sustainable operations while continuing to offer competitive products in a highly price-sensitive market. Customers planning to purchase a new Nissan should head to their local dealerships or the Nissan website to take advantage of the current prices that also include healthy year-end discounts.

However, if you miss out on the year-end drop in prices, it is not all doom and gloom, as December will be the last month that Nissan remains a one-car manufacturer for the Indian market. January will see the launch of the Gravite B-MPV, which will start hitting dealerships in March.

In February, Nissan will unveil its all-new Tekton C-SUV, based on the same platform as the upcoming Renault Duster for India, which will be launching on Republic Day 2026. The new Tekton is expected to launch in the second half of 2026 and will be followed by an as-of-now unnamed 7-seater C-SUV in 2027.
