Nissan Registers Highest Sales In 7 Years; 99,000 Units Of Magnite SUVs Sold!
Nissan Motor India has achieved its highest annual sales since FY2017-18, with over 99,000 units sold in FY2024-25. This includes more than 28,000 units in the domestic market and an impressive 71,000 units exported. The New Nissan Magnite B-SUV has been a significant contributor to this success.
The updated Nissan Magnite was introduced in October 2024 and has strengthened Nissan's domestic portfolio while playing a crucial role globally. Under the 'One Car, One World' initiative, the Magnite is now exported to over 65 countries, including left-hand-drive markets like Saudi Arabia. These export figures highlight India's growing importance as a manufacturing and export hub for Nissan.

Sales Growth and Strategic Moves
Nissan's consolidated sales for FY25 increased by 35% compared to the previous year. Despite rising competition and a shift towards alternative fuel vehicles in India, the Magnite maintained strong momentum domestically. By August 2024, it had crossed a cumulative sales milestone of 1.5 lakh units, with the new version receiving over 10,000 bookings within three months of its launch.
Exports saw a remarkable increase from 42,978 units in FY23 to 71,000 units in FY25, marking a significant rise of 65%. The New Magnite's right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive versions are being shipped to various global markets. To offset rising input and operational costs, Nissan announced a price hike of up to 3% on all variants of the New Magnite effective April 1, 2025.

Future Plans and Model Expansion
Nissan plans to introduce two new models: an all-new seven-seater B-MPV and a five-seater C-SUV. These will share platforms with Renault Triber and Renault Duster respectively. This expansion aims to strengthen Nissan's product lineup in India further.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India stated: "This year has been challenging for the auto industry. Despite this, the New Magnite has shown it remains a strong favorite among B-SUV customers. Our dealership network expansion reflects our commitment to improving accessibility and customer service."
Commitment to Indian Market
Nissan is restructuring its India operations as part of its global turnaround strategy. The company is selling its stake in the Chennai JV plant to Alliance partners but remains committed to Indian customers, employees, and dealer partners.
Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation & President of Nissan India Operations said: "India remains a strong pillar of growth for Nissan driven by the continued success of the Nissan Magnite...Nissan & its dealer partners will continue to provide Sales & Service to customers of existing and future new models."
The company's strategic moves aim at enhancing customer experience through an exciting product portfolio and expanding their dealer network further.
