2025 Nissan Pathfinder Achieves IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ Rating For Family Safety

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder has once again achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. This marks the fourth year in a row that the Pathfinder has received this accolade, highlighting its outstanding safety features. The recognition comes as IIHS continues to implement more stringent testing standards, demonstrating the Pathfinder's reliability and safety for families.

In 2024, IIHS revised its moderate overlap front crash test to include a second dummy representing a small adult or a 12-year-old child seated behind the driver. This change aims to assess injury risks commonly faced by second-row passengers. To qualify for the TOP SAFETY PICK designation, vehicles must achieve an "Acceptable" rating in this test, while a "Good" rating is necessary for the TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation.

To earn the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK+ title, vehicles must also secure "Good" ratings in both small overlap front and updated side impact tests. Additionally, they need "Acceptable" or "Good" ratings in pedestrian front crash prevention and come equipped with standard headlights rated as acceptable or good. The Pathfinder's performance across these rigorous evaluations highlights its extensive range of active and passive safety features.

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder enhances family journeys with seating for up to eight passengers. It offers various grades, including the rugged Rock Creek and the well-equipped Platinum grade. Each Pathfinder comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield® 360 and class-exclusive Intelligent Forward Collision Warning.

The Pathfinder also provides class-exclusive available Intelligent Around View® Monitor for added reassurance when parking. ProPILOT Assist is available on SV and Rock Creek grades, while ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link is offered on SL and Platinum grades for easier highway driving.

Vinay Shahani, senior vice president of U.S. marketing and sales at Nissan Americas, stated: "IIHS continues to raise the bar, and Pathfinder continues to meet it. Earning the top rating four years in a row solidifies Pathfinder's reputation as a safe and dependable SUV for families." He further emphasized that this award acknowledges their dedication to engineering vehicles that perform when it matters most.
