Nissan Magnite CNG Launched In India - Sales Cross 2 Lakh Units

Japanese carmaker Nissan has launched the Magnite CNG in India as it celebrates a mssive sales milestone - 2 lakh Magnites sold since its launch in December 2020.. Prices for the Nissan Magnite CNG, which is being offered as a government-approved retrofitment kit from Motozen, are a Rs 75,000 premium over the respective petrol variant.

The Nissan Magnite CNG is only being offered in variants fitted with the 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine. The Nissan Magnite CNG range starts at Rs 6.89 lakh for the base Visla variant and goes all the way up to Rs 10.02 lakh for the top-spec Tekna+ (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom).

The retrofitted CNG kit is the work of Motozen and will be fitted at government-authorized fitment centres. The kit comes with a 3-year/ 1 lakh km warranty. Nissan will open bookings for the Magnite CNG in the following states on June 1 at authorized dealerships in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala. Other states will follow in the second phase of the launch.

The 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder engine in the Nissan Magnite comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and produces 71bhp and 96Nm of peak torque when running on petrol. Figures for the engine when running on CNG including mileage are currently not available.

The Nissan Magnite was first launched in December 2020 and since the has emerged as a big sales draw for fans of the brand in India.The Magnite recieved its big mid-cycle refresh last year in October. The Magnite is offered with two engine choices - the naturally aspirated 1.0-litre engine that has just been given the CNG treatment and comes in both manual and AMT guises along with a turbocharged version of the same engine that cranks out 99bhp and 160Nm of torque and comes paired with manual, AMT and CVT gearbox options.
