Nissan Frontier Wins Title Of Coolest Thing Made In Mississippi For 2025
The Nissan Frontier has been recognised as the "Coolest Thing Made in Mississippi" by winning the 2025 Mississippi Makers' Challenge. This accolade, organised by the Mississippi Manufacturers Association, highlights the vehicle's craftsmanship and innovation. The Frontier is produced at Nissan's Canton, Mississippi facility, with its engines manufactured at the Decherd, Tennessee powertrain plant.
"The rugged appearance, strong V6 engine, and capability are what makes the Frontier super cool. However, it is Nissan employees' dedication and passion that make our vehicles really stand out," said David Johnson, senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan Americas. "Their hard work has made the Frontier a great product, and we are proud to be part of Mississippi's vibrant manufacturing community."
This year's competition saw 70 nominations from various manufacturers across Mississippi. The diversity within the state's manufacturing sector was evident. The Frontier emerged victorious after advancing through four rounds of public voting. In the final round, it secured over 41 percent of the votes.
The award ceremony took place at the Mississippi State Capitol on Thursday. It honoured not only the top four finalists but also celebrated the state's thriving manufacturing industry.
The 2025 Nissan Frontier boasts a refreshed design with enhanced towing capabilities and updated technology. All models feature a new front fascia, grille, and bumper. A telescopic steering wheel improves driver comfort. The long-wheelbase six-foot-bed configuration is now available on more models like PRO-4X and SL grades.
Towing ratings have increased to a maximum of 7,160 pounds. Additional updates include a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen on SV grades and higher models. A striking Afterburn Orange paint option is available for PRO-X/PRO-4X only, along with a new 17-inch wheel design.
Safety Enhancements
Standard safety features now include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Parking Sensors, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Cruise Control. The 2025 Frontier also offers the Nissan Maintenance Care program with three pre-paid oil changes for up to two years or 24,000 miles.
