Nissan Formula E Team Showcases Teal Blue Livery For Championship Showdown In London
Nissan Formula E Team is gearing up for the final rounds of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the Excel London Circuit. Currently second in both the manufacturers' and teams' standings, they aim to secure more victories. Oliver Rowland's recent win in Berlin has boosted their confidence as they prepare for the last two races of Season 11.
In celebration of the new Nissan LEAF's global launch, the team will feature a special teal blue livery. This third-generation electric vehicle builds on knowledge from nearly 700,000 units sold since its 2010 debut. The LEAF is designed as a family-friendly EV with bold aesthetics, reflecting Nissan's extensive experience in electric vehicle technology.

Oliver Rowland had a memorable performance in London last year, advancing from ninth place to victory. Norman Nato returns to drive the #17 Nissan e-4ORCE 05, aiming to continue his strong record at this circuit. The Excel London Circuit is unique for its semi-indoor layout, presenting challenges with its narrow design that makes overtaking difficult.
The track spans 2.09 kilometers through the Excel London exhibition center and Royal Victoria Docks. Key opportunities for overtaking include Turn 1 and the Turn 10-11 chicane. Qualifying will be crucial due to limited passing chances on this tight circuit.
Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal of Nissan Formula E Team, expressed optimism: "We’re pleased to arrive in London having already won the drivers’ title and in strong contention for the other two championships." He emphasized their focus on securing maximum points despite challenging gaps.
Oliver Rowland shared his thoughts: "I really like the London circuit, even though I have not been too successful here until last season." He noted that familiarity with the track aids their strategy, especially with changes like resurfacing expected to improve grip.
Challenges and Goals
Norman Nato looks forward to racing again: "I’m really excited to head back to London. I enjoy the challenge of the track." He highlighted how indoor-outdoor transitions affect car setup, particularly if rain occurs. Their goal remains clear: winning both teams' and manufacturers' titles.
Sérgio Sette Câmara appreciates London's unique features: "London is so different to any other track we have on the Formula E calendar." He mentioned how its semi-indoor layout requires adaptation but offers exciting driving experiences similar to Tokyo's narrow twists.
Nissan's Commitment to Electric Racing
Nissan entered all-electric racing in Season 5 (2018/19) as Japan's first manufacturer in Formula E. They committed long-term involvement through Season 12 (2025/26) during Season 7 (2020/21). In April 2022, Nissan acquired e.dams race team ownership for full championship participation.
By March 2024, Nissan pledged ongoing commitment by signing up for GEN4 era until 2030. This aligns with their Ambition 2030 electrification targets aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by mid-century across operations and product life cycles.
Formula E's Environmental Impact
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship achieved net-zero carbon status from inception in 2020 by investing in climate-protecting projects globally. All cars are powered by electricity, promoting sustainable mobility within city centers while combating air pollution and climate change effects.
Nissan aims to transfer racetrack knowledge into better road vehicles for customers as part of their electrification goals by early next decade across key markets worldwide.
