Nissan Marks Significant Milestone With 700,000 Murano Crossovers Assembled In The United States
Nissan has achieved a significant milestone with the production of 700,000 Murano crossovers in the United States. This total includes vehicles assembled at both the Canton, Mississippi plant from 2014 to 2020 and the current Smyrna, Tennessee facility. "This milestone is a direct reflection of the pride our team takes in every vehicle they build," said Brian Crockett, vice president of manufacturing for the Nissan Smyrna plant.
More than 6,700 Murano crossovers are produced monthly at the Smyrna plant. The Murano is exclusively assembled in the U.S., contributing significantly to the local economy. It was recently included in the Top 100 Cars.com American-Made Index for 2025, which highlights vehicles that have a substantial impact on the U.S. economy through production, sourcing, and employment.

The latest Murano showcases Nissan's "energetic elegance" design theme with its sleek exterior. It features available 21-inch wheels, full-width LED tail lights, and optional two-tone paintwork. Inside, it offers an upscale experience with soft-touch materials, dual high-definition 12.3-inch displays, ambient lighting with 64 colours, and massaging front seats.
The Nissan Smyrna plant is notable as Tennessee's first auto assembly facility. It currently produces several models including the Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, and INFINITI QX60. With an investment of $8.8 billion USD to date and over 5,700 employees, this site represents Nissan's largest manufacturing operation in the U.S., capable of producing up to 500,000 vehicles annually.
"Behind each of the 700,000 Muranos are the people who bring their skill, dedication and attention to detail to work every day," added Brian Crockett. He emphasised that their commitment ensures safety, reliability, and lasting quality for customers. This dedication is what enables such achievements.
