New 2025 Mahindra Bolero Neo Vs Old Bolero Neo: Differences & Similarities

Mahindra has refreshed the Bolero Neo for 2025, and the model features numerous changes and upgrades over its predecessor. That said, here is a look at the changes and upgrades on the 2025 Bolero Neo compared to the older model.

Exterior Design

The new Mahindra Bolero Neo retains its rugged stance but receives subtle styling revisions for a more contemporary look. The most noticeable change is the redesigned front grille, which now features silver horizontal accents instead of the older six-slat chrome setup. The new 16-inch alloy wheels further enhance its appeal, while the familiar boxy shape and tailgate-mounted spare wheel ensure it still looks every bit a Bolero.

New Vs Old Mahindra Bolero Neo

Mahindra has also expanded the colour palette, adding two new shades - Jeans Blue and Concrete Grey - alongside existing options such as Diamond White, Stealth Black, Pearl White and Rocky Beige. Buyers can now also choose from new dual-tone combinations for added visual flair.

Refreshed Interior & Added Features

Inside, the Bolero Neo has received meaningful updates that improve both comfort and connectivity. A new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system replaces the older 7-inch unit and now supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which were previously missing. The dashboard continues with a dual-tone finish, but the colour layout has been flipped - beige now occupies the middle section while black frames the top and bottom.

Additional conveniences include a USB-C charging port and a rearview camera, both of which enhance the practicality of the SUV. Smartphone connectivity is now standard across all variants, addressing one of the biggest drawbacks of the earlier model.

Powertrain & Mechanical Improvements

Under the hood, the Bolero Neo continues with the same proven 1.5-litre, three-cylinder mHawk 100 diesel engine that produces 100 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It remains paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, along with features such as engine start-stop, Eco mode and ESS (micro-hybrid) drive mode.

However, Mahindra has fine-tuned the ride and braking performance. The SUV now uses Frequency Dependent Dampers (FDD) - similar to those found in the Scorpio N - for a better balance between comfort and handling. The braking system has also been upgraded for improved stopping power and confidence on varied terrains.

New Variant Line-Up

The updated Bolero Neo range now consists of five trims: N4, N8, N10, N10 (O) and the newly introduced top-end N11. The N10 (O) continues to be the only variant equipped with a mechanical locking differential, enhancing its off-road credentials. The addition of the N11 variant makes it easier for buyers to opt for a more feature-loaded model without a big price jump.

Revised Pricing & Value

Mahindra has made the 2025 Bolero Neo more accessible by adjusting its pricing under the new GST structure. The entry-level N4 is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh, while the top-spec N11 trim costs Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This makes it nearly Rs 2.16 lakh cheaper than the 2021 model's highest N10(O) variant, offering far better value for money.

Variant 2025 Bolero Neo Price Pre GST 2.0 Price
N4 Rs 8.49 lakh Rs 9.94 lakh
N8 Rs 9.29 lakh Rs 10.63 lakh
N10 Rs 9.79 lakh Rs 11.47 lakh
N11 / N10(O) Rs 9.99 lakh Rs 12.15 lakh

DriveSpark Thinks

With its refreshed design, modern features, and improved comfort, the 2025 Mahindra Bolero Neo successfully bridges the gap between rugged utility and everyday practicality. It retains the robust character of the Bolero lineage while offering better value and usability for urban as well as rural buyers.
