New MG Hector & Hector Plus Facelift: What’s New?
JSW MG Motor India has revealed the all-new MG Hector and Hector Plus facelift models in the domestic market. These SUVs are sold in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. Let's take a look at the new features and updates in these facelifted models that make them more valuable and attractive in the segment.
New MG Hector & Hector Plus Updates
New Aura Grille
The most noticeable change in the Hector facelift is the new Aura Hex Grille. Finished in chrome, it gives the SUV a bold road presence. The car looks more striking with the all-new Celadon Blue colour option.

Bold Bumpers and Alloy Wheels
The front and rear bumpers have been completely revamped and now look stronger and wider than the outgoing version. The SUV also gets newly designed alloy wheels, which MG calls Aura Bolt Alloys. These new six-spoke split alloy wheels enhance both stability and visual appeal.
Refreshed Interiors
On the inside, the Hector now offers a more premium cabin with a refreshed dashboard equipping India's largest 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The five-seater variant gets a dual-tone Ice Grey fabric interior that feels brighter and more attractive. The six- and seven-seater variants feature a dual-tone Urban Tan leatherette interior that looks more plush and premium.

Sophisticated Technology
With this facelift, MG Motor has introduced segment-first gesture controls through the new I-Swipe touchscreen gesture system. This feature allows users to control functions such as AC temperature, fan speed, music, and volume using simple hand swipes.
Improved Safety
The Hector now comes with a 360-degree surround-view camera system with an additional wheel-view function. This helps drivers to see the areas around the wheels, improving confidence while navigating tight spaces, uneven roads, parking areas, and obstacles.

MG Hector Powertrain
Both models are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed CVT automatic transmission.
Other Features
Most other features remain unchanged. The Compact SUV continues to offer Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a reverse parking camera, front ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, LED setup and connected tail lamps, a wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Infinity audio system powered by Harman, and MG's i-Smart connected car features.
Value Pricing
MG Motor has reduced the price of the Hector by up to ₹2 lakh, making it a stronger value-for-money offering in the segment. The new Hector Style base variant now starts at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The five-seater Hector competes with rivals such as the Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq. Meanwhile, the seven-seater Hector Plus rivals models like the Hyundai Alcazar, the upcoming Mahindra XUV 7X0, and the Jeep Meridian.
