Isuzu Launches New D-Max EV: Europe's First Fully Electric Commercial Pick-Up At CV Show 2025
Isuzu UK has introduced the New Isuzu D-Max EV at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham. This marks the debut of Europe's first fully electric commercial pick-up with over a 1-tonne payload, 3.5-tonne towing capacity, and full-time 4x4. Equipped with a 66.9 kWh battery and dual motors, it offers robust performance for modern needs.
The D-Max EV is set to arrive in the UK by February 2026, with pre-sales starting in late 2025 after pricing details are revealed. The model was unveiled as part of a significant moment for Isuzu, showcasing their commitment to innovation in the commercial vehicle sector.
This new model retains the ruggedness expected from Isuzu's Pick-Up Professionals. It features a WLTP range of 263 km and dual motors producing 140 kW and 325 Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0-62 mph in just over ten seconds and can reach speeds exceeding 80 mph.
Designed for professionals needing durability and power, the D-Max EV includes full-time 4x4, multi-level regenerative braking, and Eco Mode to extend its range. It can handle water wading up to 600 mm and has a ground clearance of 210 mm, making it suitable for various terrains.
The D-Max EV will be available in two premium trims: Extended Cab and Double Cab. These trims are electric versions of the diesel-powered DL40 and V-Cross models. They offer advanced features like chrome or dark grey styling, infotainment systems, heated seats, Bi-LED headlights, leather upholstery, climate control, parking sensors, and Rough Terrain Mode.
The model displayed at the show featured a unique Norwegian Blue paint job. However, the colour options for UK orders have not been announced yet.
Enhanced Ride Quality
To improve ride quality, Isuzu has replaced the traditional leaf spring setup with a new De-Dion rear suspension. This change reduces cabin noise and vibration by up to 10% during full acceleration. The zero-emissions model also includes other refinements for a smoother driving experience.
Built on Proven Platform
The New Isuzu D-Max EV is built on the award-winning D-Max platform known for its capability and reliability. It features a strengthened ladder chassis to handle heavy payloads and includes Rough Terrain Mode for off-road adventures. Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) enhance safety.
Sustainable Driving Experience
This electric pick-up offers zero tailpipe emissions while maintaining its workhorse credentials. It comes with an eight-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty. The vehicle is ideal for construction, agriculture, utility fleets, or eco-conscious adventurers seeking sustainable alternatives to diesel engines.
