New Hyundai Venue Vs Old: Top Differences You Need To Know
Hyundai has officially unveiled the new-generation Venue and opened bookings for the compact SUV, with prices set to be revealed on November 4. The new model brings a sharper design, larger dimensions, and a more premium interior, signaling a major leap over its predecessor. Here's a detailed look at everything that sets the new Venue apart from the old one.
1. Exterior Design & Dimensions
The new Venue now measures 3,995mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,665mm in height - making it 48mm taller and 30mm wider than the current model. The wheelbase has also increased by 20mm (2,520mm), translating to better interior space and improved road presence.

Its design language has evolved drastically, adopting a more boxy and upright stance. The flared fenders, squared-off panels, and clean surfaces lend it a more rugged SUV appeal.
The front fascia gets a complete overhaul - featuring an LED light bar with L-shaped DRLs that extend into the main headlamp units, a bonnet-mounted Hyundai badge, and a new rectangular grille pattern with a large silver skid plate.

Over to the side, you'll notice thicker body cladding, a boxier glass area, and larger roof rails. The new 16-inch alloys and satin silver D-pillar garnish further add to its upscale stance.
Interestingly, the current Venue has a larger rear light bar compared to the new one. The new Venue features a smaller LED bar with integrated 'VENUE' lettering, a bigger roof spoiler, and L-shaped reflectors, giving it a sportier and more modern rear profile.
2. Interior & Cabin Experience
The interior of the new Venue marks a major transformation. The dashboard now features dual 12.3-inch curved screens for infotainment and instrumentation - a setup even larger than what's seen on the Creta.
The blue-and-beige theme replaces the previous all-black or dual-tone layouts, while a sleek beige panel stretches across the dash with vertical AC vents at both ends.
Adding a futuristic touch is the new flat-bottomed steering wheel, which ditches the Hyundai logo for the four-dot 'H' motif in Morse code, as seen on the Ioniq 5 and Creta EV.
The new Venue replaces the trio of rotary knobs with a row of tactile buttons separated by a miniature digital climate display. The gear lever looks more premium and sits next to the rotary drive mode selector and electronic parking brake.
At the back, Hyundai claims easier ingress and egress thanks to wider-opening doors. The 20mm longer wheelbase should translate to improved rear legroom, addressing one of the key criticisms of the outgoing model.
3. Features & Technology
True to Hyundai's feature-rich approach, the new Venue gains a fully digital instrument cluster, replacing the old part-digital setup. The infotainment system now supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, a first for the Venue.
New additions include ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, rear sun blinds, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Most notably, the Venue now gets Level 2 ADAS, offering adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and safe exit warning - a big leap over the current model's Level 1 system. Hyundai also claims to have strengthened the bodyshell, further improving safety credentials.
4. Engine & Gearbox Options
The powertrain lineup remains unchanged, featuring three engines:
- 1.2-litre NA Petrol (83hp)
- 1.0-litre Turbo-Petrol (120hp)
- 1.5-litre Turbo-Diesel (100hp)
While the 1.2 petrol continues with a 5-speed manual, and the 1.0 turbo-petrol retains the 7-speed DCT, Hyundai is expected to introduce a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the diesel variant, offering greater convenience and appeal to long-distance users.
DriveSpark Thinks
With a taller, wider stance, premium interiors, ADAS tech, and potential diesel automatic option, the new Hyundai Venue feels like a full segment upgrade rather than a facelift. That said, Hyundai has effectively strengthened its compact SUV game - blending the Venue's practicality with the refinement and technology of larger SUVs in its lineup.
