New BMW M2 CS Unveils Enhanced Performance With 530 Hp And Unique Design Features
The second-generation BMW M2 CS debuts as the latest special edition from BMW M GmbH. It boasts a powerful 530 hp engine and a chassis tuned for performance. Lightweight construction using carbon fibre reinforced plastic enhances its dynamic capabilities. Available in four paint colours, it features the BMW Operating System 8.5 with an M-specific interface. Production is limited, with UK deliveries expected in late summer 2025.
The new BMW M2 CS captures the essence of driving pleasure, setting a benchmark in the compact high-performance sports car segment. With increased engine power and model-specific chassis tuning, it continues a lineage that began with the legendary BMW 2002 Turbo over 50 years ago. The six-cylinder engine now delivers 530 hp, matching the performance of the BMW M3 Competition Saloon and BMW M4 Coupé.
A range of design elements gives the BMW M2 CS a distinctive presence on the road. A ducktail spoiler is seamlessly integrated into the carbon fibre boot lid, accompanied by exclusive forged M light-alloy wheels in Golden Bronze, a unique stripped-back M kidney grille, a newly designed carbon rear diffuser, and a matte black front splitter.
The upgraded six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology offers impressive performance characteristics. It delivers 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque, providing linear power delivery even at higher revs. The engine's maximum power output is achieved at 6,250 rpm before reaching a red line of 7,200 rpm.
An eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic is standard, allowing drivers to alter shift characteristics through three distinct levels. Gearshift paddles on the steering wheel enable sequential gear selection at any time.
Chassis and Braking System
The chassis technology and braking system are tailored to enhance performance and weight distribution. Lowered by eight millimetres, it features bespoke tuning for springs, dampers, and control systems. The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and M Dynamic Mode are optimised for track driving.
An M Compound braking system with red brake callipers is standard. For additional stopping power, optional M Carbon ceramic brakes are available. The steering, differential, and integrated braking system receive model-specific tuning for improved handling.
Interior and Technology
Inside the cabin, carbon fibre components continue to enhance racing flair. The centre console is made entirely from CFRP, while heated bucket seats offer comfort and adjustability. An Alcantara steering wheel with a flat-bottomed rim adds to the sporty feel.
The BMW Curved Display includes a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display with an M-specific interface based on Operating System 8.5. Standard equipment includes three-zone automatic air conditioning, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, and smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
Exterior Paint Options
Customers can choose from four exterior paint colours: Sapphire Black metallic, Brooklyn Grey metallic, Portimao Blue metallic, or Velvet Blue metallic from BMW Individual. The exclusive double-spoke design wheels are finished in matte Gold Bronze.
