New Bentayga Speed Unveils Enhanced Performance With Twin-Turbo V8 Engine And Dynamic Features
The Bentayga Speed is Bentley's most powerful SUV, surpassing its W12 predecessor. It features a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 650 PS and 850 Nm of torque. This engine propels the vehicle from 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 193 mph (310 km/h). The SUV also boasts an enhanced chassis for improved agility and performance.
Drivers can choose from three modes: COMFORT, BENTLEY, and SPORT. While the first two remain unchanged, SPORT mode has been significantly enhanced. It offers increased steering response and road-holding capabilities, thanks to a 15% increase in suspension damping stiffness. This mode allows drivers to fully exploit the V8's power during cornering.
The Bentayga Speed introduces all-wheel steering for the first time. At lower speeds, rear wheels turn opposite to the front for better agility and a reduced turning circle. At higher speeds, they steer in the same direction as the front wheels to enhance stability. This feature enhances driver confidence and vehicle handling.
The Bentayga Speed stands out with unique design elements like dark tint brightware and chrome Speed badges on the doors. It offers 22-inch Speed wheels in dark tint or silver options, while optional carbon ceramic brakes allow for a new 23-inch wheel choice in various finishes. Brake calipers come in seven colours.
Inside, the Bentayga Speed reflects its performance focus with features like a Speed-specific driver display and badging on the passenger fascia. The interior includes dark tint air vents and a Precision Diamond quilt design on seat panels. The upholstery showcases a darker secondary hide with contrasting main hide accents.
Performance Enhancements
The Bentayga Speed's SPORT mode enhancements include optional carbon ceramic brakes and ESC Dynamic software for improved agility and driver engagement. Torque vectoring by brake sharpens turn-in capabilities, allowing more power during corner exits. Launch Control is introduced for the first time in any Bentayga model.
A standard sports exhaust system delivers a rich engine note that complements the V8's character. For an even more thrilling sound experience, an optional Titanium Akrapovic Exhaust is available, featuring quad tailpipes that enhance the V8's power and drama audibly.
