MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights: Celebrating A Decade Of Dodge Performance With Thrilling Rides And Celebrity Guests
The 10th edition of MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge is set for August 9 in downtown Pontiac, Michigan. This event marks a decade of celebration with the public unveiling of new Dodge vehicles. Attendees can experience thrilling rides in the next-generation Dodge Charger muscle cars. The event promises an exciting lineup, including celebrity appearances and street-legal drag racing on Woodward Avenue.
Fans will have the chance to witness burnouts performed by NHRA stars Matt Hagan and Leah Pruett in powerful 12,000-horsepower Dodge drag cars. Mopar enthusiast and renowned blues rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd is scheduled to make a special guest appearance, delivering a unique performance of the national anthem. Additional celebrity appearances include Roadkill's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan.
The Ram display will feature the brand’s Ram 1500 NASCAR concept truck, Raminator Monster Truck, and Bucking HEMI Experience. Special builds from Ram will also debut on the strip. The event includes a walkable pit area where fans can interact with racers and check out their drag cars up close. A variety of ticket packages are available starting at $25 for general admission.
Street-legal drag racing will take place on Woodward Avenue near Pike Street, with cash prizes up for grabs. The Direct Connection Grudge Race returns for its fifth year, pitting online automotive builders against each other using engines and parts from Direct Connection. Fans unable to attend in person can watch via Livestream on YouTube channels from 4 to 9 p.m. ET.
The event offers more than just racing; it includes Dodge Thrill Rides, Drift Rides, and a Dodge vehicle display featuring all-new next-gen Dodge Charger muscle cars. Attendees can explore the Dodge Direct Connection Alley showcasing performance parts, crate engines, and an NHRA Funny Car simulator. There will also be exhibition runs, a United Way silent auction, and a car show with classic and modern muscle vehicles.
Food trucks from local Pontiac vendors will provide delicious options throughout the day. Official merchandise from Dodge, Ram, Direct Connection, and Roadkill Nights will be available for purchase. The Radford Racing School display will feature cars and crew alongside music and entertainment offerings.
Ticket Information
Pontiac residents with valid ID can purchase discounted tickets at $20 at the gate. Children aged 12 and under receive free admission, as do Stellantis employees presenting an ID badge along with one guest. Veterans can enjoy a $5 discount on regular general admission by using the code "VETS5" during ticket checkout online.
