Modi Flags Off EV That Will Be Exported To 100 Countries!
In a significant stride for India's green mobility ambitions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremonially flagged off the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. This event marks the automaker's first global Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) destined for exports from India.
The event took place at Maruti Suzuki's Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, emphasising India's evolving role as a global EV manufacturing hub.

That said, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is poised to be shipped to over 100 countries, including advanced regions like Europe and Japan. This underscores India's increasing footprint in sustainable transportation on the world stage.
Ambitious Production Plans
Maruti Suzuki aims to build approximately 70,000 e-Vitaras in the 2025-2026 fiscal year at the Gujarat plant, with a majority of units earmarked for export-initially targeting markets like the UK before expanding further.
This initiative elegantly aligns with the broader Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat missions, signaling a future where India not only adopts but also spearheads innovations in green mobility.
Inauguration of Li-Ion Battery Plant
PM Modi inaugurated the local production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery plant—an initiative by Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki. This development is expected to raise domestic value addition in EV batteries to nearly 80%, bolstering the nation's battery manufacturing ecosystem . He hailed the occasion as a "special day" in India's pursuit of self-reliance and green mobility on social media.
DriveSpark Thinks
This moment captures the convergence of policy, manufacturing capability, and sustainable technology. Moreover, the flag-off of the e-Vitara is not just a launch; it's a powerful statement of India's accelerating pace in the global EV revolution.
