Mitsubishi Motors Unveils 2025 Outlander Trail Edition With Enhanced Off-Road Features

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Trail Edition introduces dedicated off-highway features and styling. With advanced all-wheel drive and unique accessories, it caters to outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure.

The 2025 Outlander Trail Edition introduces Mitsubishi's first off-road-focused styling and equipment package. This special edition, based on the SE trim, starts at $39,295. It features Mitsubishi's Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, ensuring that adventures continue even when the road ends. The Trail Edition includes unique design elements and performance enhancements tailored for outdoor enthusiasts.

Mark Chaffin, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA), stated, "Outlander has been a reputational, sales, and brand-level home run for Mitsubishi Motors since we launched this new-generation model in 2021." The Trail Edition aims to broaden interest in the vehicle further.

2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Trail Edition Debuts

The Trail Edition stands out with its distinctive black graphics on the hood, black trim details, and a "Trail Edition" badge on the rear hatch. It also features black skid bumper-garnish trim, black side-protector trim pieces on the lower doors and bumper corners, extended black fender trim, and black mirror and door handle covers.

Inside, all-weather floor mats are standard in every seating position to protect against mud. The cargo area also has a dedicated all-weather mat system with easy access to the third-row seating. Personalisation options include Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT tires and Thule-branded accessories like a flat-rack roof rack.

The 2025 Outlander Trail Edition comes with several updates shared across all 2025 Outlanders. These include improved steering and ride feel, redesigned interiors with new cupholders, wireless-device charging capabilities, and a larger centre console. Additionally, it features an industry-exclusive Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system with eight speakers.

Comfort is enhanced with synthetic black leather and suede seating surfaces, heated front seats, a power panoramic sunroof with retractable shade, LED headlights and fog lights. The Mi-Pilot Assist system offers adaptive cruise control and traffic-jam assist for added convenience.

Warranty Coverage

Mitsubishi provides peace of mind with a comprehensive warranty package for every vehicle. This includes a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty. There's also a seven-year/100,000-mile corrosion/perforation warranty along with five-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance.

MMNA operates through approximately 330 dealer partners across the United States. Their business plan "Momentum 2030" outlines intentions for product transformation by introducing one new or refreshed model each year until 2030.

Dealer Network Expansion

The plan aims to expand MMNA's vehicle lineup from four models today by incorporating advanced-technology internal combustion engines alongside hybrids and battery electrics. This strategy includes modernising retail sales models while expanding networks for growth.

According to Ipsos NVCS data: 96% of compact CUV owners who considered an Outlander purchased one; similarly high percentages apply across other models like Eclipse Cross or Outlander Sport among subcompact or small CUV buyers respectively.
