MINI John Cooper Works And Bulldog Racing Secure Second Place In SP3T Class At 24 Hours Of Nürburgring
MINI John Cooper Works and Bulldog Racing have once again showcased their prowess in the SP3T class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The team secured second place, trailing only behind BMW M2 Racing. Over the course of 111 laps and more than 2,700 kilometers, they demonstrated exceptional engineering and teamwork in one of motorsport's most demanding events.
The race saw Samantha Tan from Canada and Toby Goodman from Great Britain making their debut at this challenging event. Their performance was commendable, finishing second in their class. Alongside them were Sebastian Sauerbrei from Germany and Markus Fischer from Austria, who collectively displayed remarkable driving skills and resilience.
Markus Fischer achieved the team's fastest lap with a time of 10:02, surpassing last year's record. This marks the third consecutive podium finish for MINI John Cooper Works and Bulldog Racing in the SP3T class, following their previous victories. The team had to overcome a two-hour interruption due to a power failure but managed to regain over 60 positions in the overall standings.
The event attracted a record-breaking crowd of 280,000 fans, making it one of the most popular motorsport events globally this year. The MINI John Cooper Works car was not just a performer on track; its unique design by Deus Ex Machina also caught the attention of spectators even before the race began.
Off-track festivities were lively as racing enthusiasts celebrated with teams throughout the night during this 53rd edition of the Eifel classic. The atmosphere was electric as fans cheered on their favourite teams around the clock.
Congratulations are extended to ROWE Racing for their overall victory with the BMW M4 GT3 Evo and first place in SP3T class with BMW M2 Racing. Their success adds to an exciting weekend filled with high-speed action and competitive spirit.
