Mini Countryman JCW Bookings To Start September 22 - Launch Set For October

Iconic British car marque Mini is preparing to open bookings for the Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) ALL4 on September 22, ahead of the SUV's official India launch on October 14. The Mini Countryman JCW brings back a petrol-powered performance variant after the Countryman's recent switch to an all-electric lineup in India.

The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with the brand's ALL4 all-wheel drive system.

Mini Countryman JCW Bookings

Mini claims the new Countryman JCW can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, making it the quickest version of the new-generation Countryman currently on sale. The top speed of the Countryman JCW is 250km/h..

Design changes over the standard model highlight the SUV's go-faster John Cooper Works identity. The SUV gets a reworked front bumper with larger air intakes, a gloss-black grille finish, and red detailing on the outer edges. The side profile is accentuated by JCW-specific alloy wheels, while the rear features quad exhaust tips, a sporty diffuser section, a dual-tone bumper, and a larger roof spoiler.

Inside, the cabin has been given a similar performance-oriented makeover. Seats get contrast red stitching, JCW badging, and integrated headrests. The dashboard trim is redesigned with John Cooper Works graphics, and the infotainment system includes JCW-themed displays. Other interior updates include metallic pedals, ambient lighting packages, and a leather-wrapped JCW steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Until now, the Countryman range in India has only been available in electric form, which delivers 201 hp and 462 km WLTP-rated range. The arrival of the JCW marks the return of an internal combustion engine (ICE) to the Countryman lineup for India, making it the sole petrol-powered variant offered alongside the EV.

In global markets, the Countryman JCW competes with compact luxury performance SUVs such as the Audi SQ2, BMW X1 M35i, and Mercedes-AMG GLA 35. For India, the SUV is expected to be priced around ₹70 lakh (ex-showroom), although final pricing will be revealed at the launch.

Production numbers of the Mini Countryman JCW for the Indian market remain unconfirmed, but availability is likely to be limited, similar to the Countryman Electric JCW, which was capped at just 20 units earlier this year.
