Mini Cooper S Convertible Launched At ₹58.50 Lakh - Open Top Fun
Mini India has launched the all-new Cooper S Convertible in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹58.50 lakh, making it one of the most affordable premium convertibles in the country. The Mini Cooper S Convertible arrives as a completely built-up unit, and bookings are open at authorised dealerships, with deliveries commencing immediately.
The Cooper S Convertible is based on the brand's performance-oriented Cooper S hatchback, sharing its powertrain and dynamic footprint. The soft-top fabric roof can be electrically opened in around 18 seconds and closed in about 15 seconds, operable at speeds up to 30km/h, adding to its open-air appeal.
Under the bonnet, the Mini Cooper S Convertible is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing approximately 201bhp and 300Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission driving the front wheels. Mini claims the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in around 6.9 seconds.
Exterior design details of the Cooper S Convertible include circular LED headlamps, an octagonal grille and distinctive Union Jack graphic tail-lamps, while premium touches such as 18-inch alloy wheels and body cladding contribute to its visual character. The fabric roof integrates seamlessly, maintaining proportions similar to the Cooper S while adding convertible functionality.
Inside, the Mini Cooper S Convertible's cabin blends modern technology with classic Mini cues. A circular 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen anchors the centre stack, accompanied by features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, a wireless charger and a Harman Kardon audio system for enhanced connectivity and entertainment.
Comfort features on the Cooper S Convertible include powered, massaging front seats and a head-up display, while safety and convenience are supported by a rear-view camera and multiple airbags. The interior emphasises a minimalist aesthetic with a driver-centric layout and digital instrumentation.
The Mini Cooper S Convertible's boot offers a practical luggage space that's competitive for the segment. The fold-away roof mechanism stows efficiently, allowing for flexibility between open-top driving and enclosed cruising without significant compromise to cargo volume when compared to the hardtop equivalent.
