MGS5 EV Secures Top Euro NCAP Safety Rating With Impressive Performance
The MGS5 EV has achieved a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, excelling in all key safety categories. This new model, available in showrooms since spring, scored highly in both adult and child occupant protection tests. It also received praise for its features designed to safeguard road users. The vehicle's impressive scores include 90% for Adult Occupant Protection and 82% for Child Occupant Protection.
Euro NCAP awarded the MGS5 EV an 82% score for Vulnerable Road Users and 78% in Safety Assist. These results uphold MG's reputation for strong safety standards, with other models like the MG HS and MG4 EV also holding 5-star ratings. The MG4 EV has additionally been recognised by Green NCAP for its emissions performance.
The MGS5 EV is equipped with MG Pilot, a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These systems enhance safety by covering areas such as Collision Avoidance, Lane Safety, and Cruise Control. Features like active emergency braking and blind spot detection are included to ensure safer journeys.
Braking Performance
MG has partnered with Continental to enhance the MGS5 EV's braking capabilities. The vehicle uses Continental’s latest integrated braking booster system, featuring large brake discs (321mm front, 300mm rear). This setup allows the car to stop from 62mph in just 35.5 metres, showcasing its impressive braking performance.
