MG Motor ZS EV Offered With Discounts Of Up To Rs 4.44 Lakh

MG Motor India is celebrating its sixth anniversary in the country by offering discounts on the ZS EV. The price reduction applies to various trims, with the base model now starting at Rs 16.75 lakh, a decrease of Rs 13,000. The top-spec Essence trim sees a significant cut of Rs 4.44 lakh, bringing its price to Rs 20.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The ZS EV's price reduction makes it a competitive option in the midsize electric SUV segment. Rivals include the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and MG's Windsor. These competitors offer modern features and better performance, but the ZS EV's revised pricing enhances its value proposition.

MG ZS EV Ex-Showroom Price Breakdown

The new prices for the MG ZS EV are as follows:

Variant New Price (Rs) Drop In Price (Rs)
Executive 16.75 lakh 13,000
Excite Pro 18.50 lakh 48,000
Exclusive Plus 19.50 lakh 4.15 lakh
Essence 20.50 lakh 4.44 lakh

The MG ZS EV offers a range of up to 461km on a single charge from its 50.3kWh battery pack. It features a powerful electric motor delivering 176hp and torque of 280Nm. The top-spec trims come equipped with amenities like a panoramic sunroof and a large touchscreen display.

Features and Equipment Highlights

The ZS EV includes advanced features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and a wireless charger among others. Safety is enhanced with six airbags and an ADAS suite for driver assistance. The dual-tone Ivory interior variants are now priced equally with regular variants on Exclusive Plus and Essence trims; previously they cost an additional Rs 20,000.

A year ago in June 2024, the ZS EV averaged over 1,800 units in monthly sales but dropped to just 360 units last month due to increased competition in its segment. This limited-time offer does not specify an end date yet provides an opportunity for potential buyers to consider the ZS EV as an affordable choice in its class.

The MG ZS EV was initially the first mainstream midsize electric SUV in India but faces stiff competition now from newer models offering better technology and performance. The revised pricing positions the top-spec trims of the ZS EV as some of the most affordable options available within this competitive segment. This strategic move by MG Motor India aims to attract more customers amidst growing competition while celebrating their presence in India's automotive market for six years.
