MG Windsor Smashes EV Sales Record - Smashes Past 50,000 Units In Under 400 Days
MG Windsor has become the fastest-selling electric vehicle in India to cross the 50,000-unit mark, achieving the milestone slightly over 400 days after production began in October 2024. The pace reflects rapid acceptance across multiple regions and continued demand for large-volume EVs.
Retail data for the MG Windsor EV shows around 45,000 units sold between November 2024 and October 2025. The remaining numbers were added within the first few weeks of November 2025, indicating that monthly traction for the Windsor continues at a strong and steady rate nationwide.
Average monthly numbers for the Windsor stand above 3,800 units, with several months crossing the 4,000-unit mark. This level of consistency positions the model among the quickest-growing electric vehicles in its segment and highlights broad customer response across metro and tier-two markets.
The Windsor's performance has been supported by a battery-rental programme that lowers the initial purchase price. This structure has helped the model reach cost-sensitive customers while expanding the audience for long-range EVs without requiring large upfront investment in a complete battery pack.
The MG Windsor is powered by a single electric motor mounted to the front axle that produces 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The motor draws power from either a 38 kWh lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of 331 km or a larger 52.9 kWh battery for the "Pro" which allows for a range of 449 km on a single charge.
