MG Motor Keeps Up Sales Momentum In India: Windsor EV Stands Out

JSW MG Motor India continues its strong sales momentum, led by the Windsor EV, which has remained the best-selling electric car in India for 11 consecutive months. The company's diverse lineup - including the Astor, Hector/Plus, Gloster, and ZS EV - continues to perform steadily, while the Windsor EV stands out as MG's primary growth driver since its launch in October 2024.

Building on this momentum, MG is preparing to launch an updated Gloster SUV, expected to further strengthen its premium SUV portfolio.

Impact Of GST Revisions & Festive Demand

Following the recent GST reductions, MG Motor has revised prices across its ICE and EV range, making its products more accessible. Combined with festive season demand, this strategic move is expected to enhance buyer sentiment and accelerate sales in the coming months.

MG Motor India Sales Performance - September 2025

In September 2025, MG Motor India reported 6,728 units sold, marking a 47% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 4,588 units in September 2024. On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, sales also grew 2%, up from 6,578 units in August 2025.

The Windsor EV led the charge with a record 4,741 units, accounting for 70% of total sales. MG also introduced a special Windsor EV Inspire Edition, limited to 300 units, to celebrate one year since its India debut.

Q3 2025 Sales Performance

For Q3 2025, JSW MG Motor India reported 20,084 units, representing a 46.26% YoY increase over 13,732 units in Q3 2024.

The quarter was dominated by EV sales, showcasing the brand's accelerating transition towards an electric-first portfolio.

MG's Shift Toward Electric-First Future

The Q3 results highlight a strategic shift in MG's focus toward EVs, with electric vehicles contributing over two-thirds of total sales. While ICE models such as the Hector, Astor, and Gloster have seen sharp declines (68-92%), MG's EV lineup - led by the Windsor - continues to thrive.
