MG Gloster: The Unstoppable SUV
When MG Motor India introduced the Gloster in late 2020, it marked the brand's first serious step into the full-size premium SUV segment. The MG Gloster is named after the Gloster Meteor fighter from World War II, the only jet-engined aircraft to fly in the war. The Gloster SUV carried that lineage of quiet power and precision engineering into a modern, diesel-powered SUV with Level 1 ADAS that looks absolutely unstoppable on the road.
At the time of its launch the MG Gloster was also the largest vehicle MG had ever sold in India, and the most ambitious. Nearly five years on, the Gloster continues to define what MG stands for at the top end of its range - big with an unstoppable on-road presence, but capable and packed with technology.

MG Gloster Design & Features - Massively Bold
At 4,985 mm in length and 1,926 mm in width, the MG Gloster is properly full-size. It features a 2,950 mm wheelbase, giving it the stance and proportions of a true flagship. The large bold chrome grille and slim LED headlights set the tone up front, while clean surfaces and subtle detailing keep the design from feeling heavy-handed.
Step inside, and the cabin is spacious, airy and surprisingly quiet for something this big.
MG offers both six- and seven-seat configurations, with the six-seater's captain seats turning the second row into a genuinely opulent space. The driving position is high and commanding, and visibility in all directions is excellent.

The layered dashboard layout is clean, built around a 12.3-inch touchscreen that controls most major functions. MG's i-SMART 2.0 connected-car suite adds over 75 features, from live navigation and remote access to voice control that recognises Hinglish. Everything feels neatly integrated rather than overloaded - modern, but not distracting.
Practicality has been thought through as well. With all three rows in place, the Gloster still offers 343 litres of boot space, expanding easily once you fold the rear seats. A 75-litre fuel tank allows long distances between refills, and the claimed efficiency figure of 13.9 km/l is reasonable for an SUV of this scale.
Safety tech has been an MG hallmark, and the Gloster is no exception. It comes equipped with a host of ADAS features including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning. Add six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-descent assist and over 30 active safety features, and you get a sense of how complete the Gloster's safety package is.
MG Gloster Powertrain & Driving Details: A Relaxing Drive

Powering the Gloster is a 2.0-litre diesel engine available in two versions. The single-turbo unit produces 161 PS and 373 Nm of torque, while the twin-turbo delivers 215 PS and 478 Nm. Both engines are offered with an eight-speed automatic gearbox that smoothly shifts through the gears in an unhurried fashion.
The intelligent 4WD system adds genuine versatility. It offers seven terrain modes - Snow, Sand, Mud, Rock, Eco, Auto and Sport - adjusting traction and throttle response as conditions change. With 210 mm of ground clearance and a strong chassis underneath, the Gloster feels confident both on highways and off them.

Ride quality is one of the highlights of the Gloster. The suspension takes bad roads in its stride without the soft, wallowy feel many large SUVs often suffer from. At low speeds, it stays comfortable, and on the highway it settles into a steady rhythm. Cabin insulation is excellent, keeping noise and vibration to a minimum, even at triple-digit speeds.
The Gloster's defining quality, however, is how relaxing it feels. It's large, but never cumbersome and you could drive it for hours without noticing the kilometres go by - and that's the real sign of refinement.
The MG Gloster may have been named after a jet-age legend from World War II, but its approach to power feels distinctly modern. The MG Gloster is steady, measured, and quietly confident, which makes it the perfect full-sized SUV for you.
