MG Astor Price Hiked Across All Variants: Prices Start At Rs 11.48 Lakh

The MG Astor has experienced a price increase across all its variants, with the entry-level Sprint MT now starting at Rs 11.48 lakh. This represents an increase of Rs 18,000. The price adjustment follows the discontinuation of the turbo-petrol engine and the introduction of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine available in both manual and CVT transmission options.

After this update, the MG Astor's pricing ranges from Rs 11.48 lakh to Rs 17.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The Shine MT variant saw the highest increase of Rs 19,000, bringing its price to Rs 12.67 lakh. Meanwhile, the Select MT is now priced at Rs 14 lakh after an Rs 18,000 hike, and the Sharp Pro MT costs Rs 15.34 lakh following a Rs 13,000 rise.

MG Astor: Automatic Variants and Rivals

In terms of automatic trims, the Select CVT is now priced at Rs 15 lakh after a Rs 15,000 increase. Similarly, the Sharp Pro CVT has risen by Rs 15,000 to reach Rs 16.64 lakh. The top-tier Savvy Pro CVT is now available for Rs 17.63 lakh following a Rs 17,000 hike.

The MG Astor remains competitive in the compact SUV market segment. It competes with models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.

MG Astor: Features and Safety

Despite the price revision, MG has retained the Astor's trim levels and features list. The SUV boasts a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with analogue dials and a 7-inch digital driver's display. It includes ventilated front seats with six-way power adjustment for the driver.

The Astor supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers conveniences like a wireless phone charger and digital key. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, auto air-conditioning with rear AC vents, an auto-dimming IRVM, an air purifier, and a 6-speaker audio system.

Safety remains a priority for the Astor with up to six airbags available along with ABS featuring EBD. Standard safety features include ESC, traction control, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, TPMS, all-four-wheel disc brakes, rain-sensing wipers, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

The advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) continues to be part of the package making it appealing to buyers who prioritise safety and technology in their vehicles.
