Mercedes-AMG Unveils Exclusive APXGP Edition Ahead Of F1 Movie Premiere
This year, movie theatres will draw Formula 1 fans globally as the film "F1," starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, debuts. The movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, showcases real racing action filmed at actual Formula 1 races worldwide. Mercedes-AMG supported the production with F1 team expertise and vehicles from its current lineup.
The film "F1" features Brad Pitt as a former driver returning to Formula 1, with Damson Idris as his teammate in the fictional APXGP team. Shot during real Grand Prix weekends, the movie includes a star-studded cast like Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo. The film is a collaboration with Formula 1 and its community.
Mercedes-AMG unveiled the limited edition AMG GT 63 "APXGP Edition" at the Miami Grand Prix. This special model is limited to just 52 units worldwide and mirrors the design of the fictional APXGP Formula 1 team from the film. It features unique design elements and equipment details inspired by the movie's car.
The "APXGP Edition" boasts a special paint finish with Race Gold accents on various parts like the radiator grille surround and rear diffuser blade. The 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels are also painted in matte Race Gold. The AMG High Performance Carbon Ceramic Brake System adds a powerful contrast with black brake calipers.
Inside, the AMG Performance seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather/microfiber with gold contrast stitching. Carbon fiber trim elements with gold threads complement the heated AMG Performance steering wheel in microfiber. The interior also features MANUFAKTUR door sill trims with gold illumination and AMG floor mats embroidered with the "APXGP" logo.
The Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System is part of this edition's extensive equipment list. It includes 15 speakers and a system output of 1,170 watts. Additionally, AMG TRACK PACE captures data during racetrack driving, while a lift system on the front axle provides extra clearance over obstacles.
Global Release
"F1" will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, opening in North America on June 27, 2025, and internationally starting June 25, 2025. The film promises to captivate audiences with its thrilling storyline intertwined with realistic race footage.

He added that they are creating a limited number of GTs that blend AMG's excitement with this cinematic masterpiece.
The exclusive sports car architecture of the Mercedes-AMG GT combines dynamic driving experiences with everyday practicality. It features advanced technology like AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension for precise handling and a Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine delivering 577 hp.
