Mecum Motorcycles Returns To Las Vegas For Its 34th Annual Vintage And Antique Auction Event
Mecum Auctions is gearing up for its 34th Annual Vintage & Antique Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas from January 29 to February 1, 2025. The event will feature around 2,000 motorcycles at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. Enthusiasts can expect a diverse selection, including rare prewar models, sportbikes, and Italian classics. The auction will be streamed live on Mecum’s YouTube channel.
Among the standout motorcycles are two prewar gems from The Urban S. Hirsch III Collection: a 1915 Cyclone V-Twin restored by Stephen Wright and a 1938 Crocker Twin previously owned by Ernie Skelton. Also featured is a 1941 Indian Chief that has remained with one family since its purchase in 1942. Other notable bikes include a limited-edition 1974 Ducati 750SS and a BMW R1200GS once owned by Rush drummer Neil Peart.
The auction will showcase over 30 collections, including The Mitzel Builders Motorcycle Collection and The Urban S. Hirsch III Collection, each offering more than 100 motorcycles. The Hirsch collection includes rare early 20th-century bikes like an unrestored 1910 Hudson and a scarce 1911 Harley-Davidson Model 7D. The Mitzel collection features unique models such as a 1951 Rikuo RQ Model 45 and several turbocharged motorcycles.
Other collections include the RVM Classics Collection, The "Slow Joe" Gardella Estate Collection, and The Paul Adams Collection. Highlights include a Daytona-raced Norton Manx from Clarence Czysz and a rare Bianchi Scudo del Sud found in Italy. Additionally, motorcycles from Japan's Sakura Collection will be available via auction screens due to shipping delays.
The auction begins on January 29 with over 330 motorcycles from various makes like Harley-Davidson, Indian, Triumph, and BMW. More than 200 of these will be offered without reserve. Notable first-day entries include a Harley-Davidson Panhead Chopper and an Indian Chief from the early '50s.
