Mecum Auctions Announces 38th Original Spring Classic At Indiana State Fairgrounds This May
Mecum Auctions is set to return to the Indiana State Fairgrounds from May 9-17, 2025, for Dana Mecum’s 38th Original Spring Classic. This event will feature around 3,000 vehicles crossing the auction block over nine days. The annual auction has consistently attracted large crowds and impressive sales, with last year marking the fourth consecutive year of surpassing $100 million in total sales.
The auction will showcase a diverse range of vehicles, including iconic American muscle cars and high-performance European models. Among the standout consignments are Dana Mecum’s own 1965 Ford GT/109 Competition Prototype Roadster, which is the only Ford GT Roadster to have raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Other notable vehicles include a rare 1957 Chevrolet El Morocco Convertible and a unique 1962 Excalibur RS Roadster.
This event is designed to be family-friendly, offering free admission for children aged 12 and under. Families can enjoy various activities together, such as The Adventure Zone, which makes its debut at this year's Spring Classic. Additionally, there will be numerous local and popular food vendors available on-site.
The Dodge Thrill Ride will also be featured at the fairgrounds, providing an exciting experience for attendees. Media opportunities abound with live hits or remote broadcast capabilities available during the event.
Media personnel will have access to interviews with key figures from Mecum Auctions. These include Sam Murtaugh, Chief Operations Officer; Breeann Poland, Director of Marketing and Communications; and Laura Bichanich, Senior Marketing Manager. Indianapolis-area consignors and registered bidders will also be available for interviews.
The event promises a wide array of consigned vehicles from nearly all 50 states and Canada. Gates open daily at 8 a.m., allowing ample time for attendees to explore the offerings.
