McLaren W1 Supercar Showcases Performance And Heritage At 2025 Goodwood Festival Of Speed
The Goodwood Festival of Speed will host the debut of McLaren's W1, alongside the P1 and F1 models. This event marks 30 years since McLaren's victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The festival, held from July 10-13, 2025, in West Sussex, UK, celebrates McLaren's achievements in road cars and motorsports under the theme 'Champions and Challengers'.
McLaren will showcase its new W1 supercar at 'McLaren House'. This vehicle offers a thrilling driving experience with its powerful V8 hybrid engine and advanced aerodynamics. Only 399 units are available, all already allocated. The W1 joins the iconic F1 and P1 models at Goodwood, highlighting McLaren's innovation across different eras.
To commemorate its Le Mans win, McLaren will feature two special events at Goodwood. The F1 GTR that triumphed in 1995 will make a rare appearance on the hillclimb, driven by JJ Lehto. Additionally, the new 750S Le Mans edition will be unveiled to customers and fans visiting McLaren House.
The exclusive 750S Le Mans pays tribute to the legendary F1 LM road car. Limited to just 50 units, it includes a High Downforce Kit from McLaren Special Operations (MSO) for enhanced performance. This model honours McLaren's historic success at Le Mans.
The Solus GT will return to Goodwood for its third year. This track-only hypercar features an 840PS V10 engine and weighs under 1,000kg. It impressed in 2023 by winning the Timed Shootout Final. A customer-owned version will participate this year, showcasing MSO's bespoke craftsmanship.
In previous years, Mika Häkkinen drove a Solus GT painted to match his championship-winning Formula 1 car. This year’s display continues to highlight McLaren’s dedication to customisation and luxury through MSO.
Dynamic Runs and Celebrations
The festival will also see dynamic runs featuring the 750S and Artura MCL38 Celebration Edition supercars. These models celebrate McLaren's recent Formula 1 Constructors' Championship win with a distinctive livery designed by MSO in Papaya Orange and Anthracite colours.
This year marks ten years of McLaren’s ‘LT’ cars. The ‘Celebrate LT’ initiative has united LT owners worldwide through community events since March. Heritage LT models will be displayed in Goodwood’s ‘Supercar Paddock’ for dynamic showcases.
