McLaren GT3 EVO Cars To Race In 24 Hours Of Le Mans Celebrating 30 Years Since Iconic Victory
McLaren is set to make a significant return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024, marking 30 years since their debut victory. Two McLaren GT3 EVO cars will compete in the LM GT3 class, with United Autosports managing the entries. This comes after McLaren's impressive pole position in the class during their 2024 appearance.
In 1995, McLaren achieved a historic win at Le Mans with their F1 GTR #59 car. Driven by JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya, it was one of four McLarens in the top five. This victory was part of McLaren's unique Triple Crown achievement, which includes wins at the Indianapolis 500 and Monaco Grand Prix.

The upcoming race will see Grégoire Saucy, James Cottingham, and Sébastien Baud driving the iconic #59 car. Meanwhile, Darren Leung, Marino Sato, and Sean Gelael will take on the challenge in car #95. The team aims to replicate past successes and strengthen their bid for the 2025 World Endurance Championship LMGT3 title.
