Maserati Secures Two Overall Victories At Zandvoort During GT2 European Series Weekend
In the second race weekend of the 2025 GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli, Maserati shone brightly at Zandvoort. The Maserati GT2 cars achieved both overall and class victories on this iconic Dutch track. Philippe Prette from LP Racing secured the overall win in Race 1, starting from pole position and dominating in the Am Class.
Prette's performance was remarkable as he maintained a lead of over 15 seconds before his mandatory pit stop. Despite pressure from professional drivers, he clinched the overall victory with less than a second to spare. This marked the first time since 2022 that an Am Class driver achieved an overall win.
Race 2 saw Roberto Pampanini and Mauro Calamia from Dinamic Motorsport take centre stage. Starting third on the grid, Calamia quickly moved up to second place before handing over to Pampanini. The Italian driver then executed a decisive move near the end to secure both the overall win and Pro-Am Class victory.
In Race 1, Pampanini and Calamia also impressed by finishing third overall and second in their class. Pampanini started strong, maintaining a podium position before Calamia took over to complete their successful race. Their teamwork was evident throughout the weekend.
Prette faced challenges in Race 2 after an accident during qualifiers forced him to start from the back of the grid. Nevertheless, he made a remarkable comeback, securing another Am Class win and finishing third overall after strategic pit stops.
