Maserati Secures Class Victory And Podium Finishes At Spa In GT2 European Series
Maserati celebrated a successful weekend at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit during the third round of the 2025 GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli. The Maserati GT2 cars excelled, securing a win in the Am Cup class and achieving podium finishes in both overall and Pro-Am categories. This performance highlighted Maserati's prowess on the legendary track.
In Race 1, Philippe Prette from LP Racing started from pole position and clinched victory in the Am Cup category. Despite challenging conditions due to rain, Prette maintained his lead after a strategic pit stop, ensuring his fourth class win. Meanwhile, Calamia and Pampanini from Dinamic Motorsport secured second place overall and in the Pro-Am Cup.
Race 2 saw Calamia and Pampanini start strong from the second row, quickly moving into second place. After a driver change during the pit stop, they finished third overall and in their class. Prette faced challenges with a tyre issue but managed to finish fourth in his category, maintaining his lead in the Am Cup standings.
The Maserati MCXtrema was prominently featured as the official Leading Car throughout the event. This special livery celebrated 20 years since Maserati's MC12 first won at the 24 Hours of Spa. The brand also provided Safety Cars, Leading Cars, and Medical Cars for the event through an agreement with SRO Motorsports Group.
Maria Conti, Head of Maserati Corse, expressed her satisfaction with the results: "The weekend at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa was simply extraordinary! The Maserati GT2s shone with victories and podium placings in the GT2 European Series." She highlighted how these achievements reflect Maserati's leadership and excellence in motorsport.
