Maserati GT2 Stradale Makes Its Road Debut In Europe With Racing DNA And Luxury Features

The Maserati GT2 Stradale, a new super sports car from the House of the Trident, is set to make its mark on both roads and tracks. Following its debut at "The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering" during California's Monterey Car Week on August 16, this road-legal version will be available in Europe starting April. The launch event in Andalusia offered stakeholders and customers a chance to experience the car's dual nature: racing prowess and comfort.

In December, production of the GT2 Stradale began at Maserati's historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant in Modena. Limited to just 914 units, each car features a badge with "1 of 914," symbolising Maserati's founding year, 1914. This exclusive model combines elements from both the MC20 and GT2, boasting a top speed of 201 mph and an enhanced V6 Nettuno engine producing 631 hp.

The test drive route started in Marbella and wound through the scenic Parque Nacional Sierra de las Nieves before reaching the Ascari circuit near Ronda. Named after an Italian Formula 1 champion who raced with Maserati, this track highlights the brand's rich sporting legacy. The GT2 Stradale embodies this heritage by merging racing DNA with road comfort.

Santo Ficili, Maserati CEO, stated: "From the road to the track and back again: moving from the racing GT2 to its road version was a natural step, to epitomise our brand’s performance. With the road debut of what is the pinnacle of our super sports cars, we have created a perfect platform for the customers of this car, which has also been lauded by the media."

The GT2 Stradale offers an exhilarating driving experience with acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. It stands out as one of the most agile rear-wheel-drive cars in its class. For added exclusivity, various liveries were developed under Maserati's Fuoriserie Customization Program, showcasing unique designs at Ascari circuit's pit lanes.

Maserati has long been synonymous with luxury and performance. Its current lineup includes models like Grecale SUV and GranTurismo grand tourer. These vehicles are known for their exceptional design and advanced technology. The MC20 super sports car tops this range with its innovative Nettuno V6 engine featuring F1-inspired technologies.

Global Reach and Future Plans

Maserati aims to redefine luxury mobility by focusing on customer needs while expanding globally under Stellantis' "Dare Forward 2030" plan. The brand offers hybrid powertrains for some models while introducing full-electric options like GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore SUVs.

The GT2 Stradale represents a significant step forward for Maserati as it returns to closed-wheel championships with this road-legal version. Its powerful V6 Nettuno engine delivers up to 640 hp (471 kW), making it Maserati's most potent internal combustion engine vehicle yet.

Maserati continues to produce distinctive cars that captivate discerning tastes worldwide through style, technology, and exclusivity across more than 70 markets internationally.
